CANOPY TOURS | ROCKCLIMBING | GEOCHALLENGE | GEO RACE PARTY ADVENTURE
CANOPY TOURS

What is a canopy tour? It's a series of zip lines and rope bridges and challenges through the trees under the "canopy" or the leaves of the trees. You'll take the chair lift to the top of the mountain, hike to your starting point and then, harnessed to zip lines, you'll fly through the air high above the mountain!

Easy Rider” – This introductory level tour consists of three moderate speed zip lines, a burma bridge and a rappel. The maximum tree platform height is approximately 40 feet and the longest zip is approximately 180 feet. This tour can take between 20 minutes to 1 1⁄2 hour to complete harness to un-harness depending on group size and ability level. This tour is available to anyone regardless of physical conditioning. Note however that a moderately fit person or someone seeking an adventure challenge may be better suited for one of the other tours.
Vertigo” - This tour is longer and more physically and mentally challenging than the Easy Rider. This tour consists of four zip lines including the famous “Tower Zip”, a 333 foot fast zip taking you into the rock climbing tower. Many guests say this zip alone is worth the price of admission. In addition to the four zips there is a cargo net, a Charlie Chaplin bridge, a rope vine traverse, and a railroad bridge. The maximum tree platform height is approximately 40 feet and the longest zip is 333 feet. This tour can take between 1 hour l5 minutes to 2 1⁄2 hours to complete harness to un-harness depending on group size and ability. This tour is available to anyone of moderate or better physical condition. If you can do 10 sit-ups and push-ups and walk up a flight of stairs without huffing and puffing you can do this tour.

The Full Monty” - This tour combines the two previous tours and includes all of the above. This tour can take between 2 hours and 4 hours to complete harness to un-harness depending on group size and ability. This tour has the same physical demands as “Vertigo”.

Heart of Darkness” – This tour is the Vertigo tour done at night. The one main difference is that rather than taking the chairlifts to the top, guests have the option to take a 1 hour heart pumping hike through the winding trails of the little seen “Dark Side” of Spring Mountain. Guests will be given headlamps to use while on the tour. This tour is the most physically demanding because of the steep uphill hike and the most mentally challenging because of the insecurity of darkness. This tour can take between 2 and 3 hours to complete harness to un-harness. This tour is available to guests in good to excellent physical conditioning. If you can do 10 sit-ups and push-ups, at least one pull-up and climb a flight of stairs skipping every other step without struggle you can do this tour.
Customer speaks out:

"On behalf of our group, I couldn't help but write and thank you for such a wonderful time yesterday. We did the morning "Vertigo" tour, and we're still on a natural high today! There were seven of us and we celebrated one of our friend's birthday. Guides Rick and Brian were fantastic and fun. While they gave clear instructions, along with being patient and encouraging, it was apparent they ensured we were safe the entire time. I would highly recommend this activity to those who consider themselves semi-adventurous, and am glad that we were able to overcome some of our fears. I applaud Spring Mountain for a job well done!"

Thanks again,
Diane W.

RESERVATIONS
Reservations are required on weekdays and strongly recommended on weekends. We encourage reservations to prevent waiting and to help us staff properly for the day. To make individual or group reservations contact us at 610-287-7900, ext. 100

If you have a certain date in mind and limited flexibility you should book early. A credit card is required to hold your reservation.

GROUP SIZE
Groups of up to 20 participants can be taken at one time.  Groups larger than 20 will be split into smaller groups.  On occasion, especially busy weekends, we will combine small groups together and send them out as one large group.  Typically, this is a great way to make friends with like-minded friendly people.  However, if you want to ensure that your group not be put together with any other guests, we do offer VIP tours.  VIP tours are private and are available at anytime for an additional $20 per person.

HOURS OF OPERATION
Wednesday through Friday 10:00 am to dusk
Saturday and Sunday 10:00 am to dusk

Canopy Tours range from 1-3 hours long with multiple tours running at the same time. The last tour goes out early enough to complete by dusk. Tours leave at scheduled time - please call for daily schedule (changes with season). The Geo Challenge is 2 hours long and there are two sessions: 10:00 – 12:00 and 1:00 – 3:00. Rock climbing is by the hour or the climb.

DEPOSITS
Reservation may be made by paying in advance.
Groups of 10 or more must pay a $100 non-refundable deposit to reserve their space.
Final payment or a credit card guarantee is required 3 days in advance of the tour date. All deposits are refunded if trip is cancelled due to unsafe weather conditions. A one-time date and/or time change can be made up to 3 days in advance of your scheduled tour.

CANCELLATION POLICY
To ensure a quality experience, tours are offered by reservation with walk-ins filling the openings. When you book a tour, we schedule guides and other support staff to be available to make your adventure one you'll remember. If you fail to meet your appointment, we still incur all the same expenses and may have turned others away. Therefore, those guests who fail to show for a reservation or cancel without proper notice will be charged the full tour price.

BAD WEATHER POLICY
We will not run tours in storms, high winds, or thunder and lightening. It is important to remember that foul weather in your area does not necessarily mean foul weather here at Spring Mountain. Please call first if you have concerns about the weather. We will call only if we are certain your tour will not run. In some cases, tours may be postponed to allow for weather systems to pass. A summer storm can make for some of the most beautiful conditions and opportunities to see wildlife that may not have been out during the heat of the day. So as not to risk depriving you of the best tour of the week, we are likely to wait and see!

GRATUITIES
Tipping your guides is customary.  The amount is up to you.  Typical gratuities range between 10 and 20 percent of your total tour price.  Groups of 10 or more will be charged an automatic 10% gratuity.

WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING
Guests should wear comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes. NO FLIP-FLOPS OR SLIDE ON SHOES! Please remove all jewelry prior to the tour. Jewelry and personal possessions should be stored in your vehicle or left at home. We cannot be responsible for personal property lost, damaged, or stolen during the tour. Cameras with secure retaining straps are permitted on the tour. Cameras without retaining straps are not recommended. Food and drinks are allowed, but please, No Glass and No Alcohol.
